Living in Paradox

Columbia's Spring 2025 Sermon Series

We live in a culture that craves certainty. Complex issues are reduced to soundbites, and people are labeled as right or wrong based on existing biases. Tension makes us uncomfortable, so we resolve it—quickly, cheaply, and often incorrectly. But following Jesus means embracing paradox. We die to live. We surrender to win. We grieve with hope. The Gospel refuses to fit neatly into our categories because God is bigger than our understanding. Yet paradox isn’t a problem to solve—it’s an invitation to trust.
